one of the best improvement hacks of SM that I've ever had the pleasure of playing and I must say, though I am not of fan of how the angle button controls were altered, I had no problem with them while speedrunning this hack. I personally prefer original button mapping and controls that vanilla SM provided but this was a nice change of pace and it actually helped me beat my record of 1h15m. I had quite a bit of fun playing through this hack and I would highly recommend playing this

one of the best challenge hacks that I've ever seen, I've gotten stuck in a few places and have had to look up solutions for certain puzzles but the rest I figured out on my own. this is by far one of the best challenge hacks that I've ever had the pleasure of playing through and I applaud the author for this well done hack. I know it's not the best challenge hack out there but it's one of the best imo and I liked it and enjoyed playing through it. definitely recommend this hack but be aware that some tricks are difficult and will require lots of patience so if you're not patient then don't play this hack, because you will be looking up solutions to most, if not all, of the puzzles in this hack if you don't already know some of the tricks/glitches needed to complete certain puzzles

short, sweet, simple, and straight to the point. this is a very well done hack despite how short it is. blue just happens to be one of my favorite colors and I like how the author used blue for one whole area of the hack. the colors for varia and gravity was also a nice touch. this hack has amazing visuals and I love the fact that Ice beam functions like a certain beam from Zero Mission and even has the same name from that game. that was my favorite part of the hack tbh and even though the beam wasn't used that often, I still liked how it's used in this hack. I like everything about this hack, ranging from the atmosphere to the design to the visuals, it's all very well done and I would most certainly recommend this hack due to the difficulty not being too high that it's unplayable or too low that it's not a challenge because it's too easy. to me, the difficulty is just right and I had a fun time playing through this hack, it's a 8 out of 10 for me :)

this is the best Zero Mission hack that I have ever played even though the room layout of this entire hack, with the exception of one hidden area in Crateria, is basically vanilla Zero Mission but with some minor changes. but it's by far the best to me because of those 'minor changes' and also I love the new feature that the speed booster/shinespark in this hack offers (speedkeep and shinespark exit from Super Metroid). I loved this hack and loved playing and it's just as fun for me as vanilla Zero Mission was when I first played and I'm glad I played it, nice work Meinos. you did an exceptional job with your ES/EX Mission hacks. for anyone who has played the hack and haven't found Gravity, all I will say is that it's hidden somewhere in Crateria but to avoid spoilers for those who are playing it, I will not be disclosing exactly where it is but it IS in Crateria. that's the only hint as to the location of Gravity Suit. anyway, this hack is very enjoyable and fun to play despite all of the hack having the same exact layout as vanilla Zero Mission, with the exception of one area. I would definitely recommend this hack as it's not too difficult and not too easy and for anyone who is having trouble with it, it's not that much different than vanilla Zero Mission so it shouldn't be too much trouble to complete the hack, unless you're just bad at Metroid games. nevertheless, this hack is more than worthy of 5 orbs and it's a 10/10 in my honest opinion

there are some minor gfx issues but it's not detrimental to gameplay but it is noticeable tho. speaking of gameplay, it was very unique and interesting because as the description said, this hack is "truly open progression" and it is "playable in any order the player chooses" and I like that about this hack. it was very fun to speedrun and I loved the inclusion of Metroid Fusion bosses too. I like how item progession is set up and how the layout of each area is designed, even the tilesets used are pretty cool. I had absolutely no trouble speedrunning thus hack and I most certainly would play it again, it's a very fun hack of Metroid Zero Mission with some Metroid Fusion-themed elements. this hack is automatically worthy of 5 orbs, it's a masterpiece in my opinion and I'd definitely give this hack a 10/10 for me. it can be a bit tricky if you decide to take certain different routes but it shouldn't be too difficult though. I would definitely recommend playing this hack as it is very much worth your time

very fun short hack, loved the dark atmosphere and the aesthetic tilesets that were used. this hack is a 10 out of 10 for me and in my opinion, I wouldn't mind this turning into a longer hack. I think hacks like this one are cool and in my opinion, I love the dark, eerie atmosphere. and because of that and the unique layout, I give this hack a 10. time is rta and max item count is 21%

I didn't think this hack would be this fun or enjoyable since I gave up multiple times last time I played it but this time I was determined to complete it and grab every item that I can and I gotta say, I'm really impressed by the amount of work that went into making this hack, I didn't think nor expect to like it this much
This hack is now one of my favorites, it takes everything I love about SM and makes it better.. it's an AMAZING hack that I think you most certainly should try out even if you don't end up finding everything or completing the hack
This hack does NOT disappoint by any means and honestly I'd give this hack an 11 outta 10 if I could but since I can't, 10/10.. nice work creator

Kinda upset I didn't get 100% but I ran outta places to look, even hidden pathways but I don't really mind since I enjoyed playing this hack.. but anyway, I agree with other reviewers of this hack, it most definitely is the hack of all time and you should DEFINITELY play it.. it's a little different but different is good :) and this hack is really fun to play through.. I can guarantee you that this hack does not disappoint when it comes to gameplay and progression so yeah, go play this hack

not bad, this hack is one of my favorites but due to messing up multiple times, I couldn't achieve the low time and max% that I was going for but nonetheless this is an amazing hack.. Tourian was by FAR my favorite part the of hack, I liked the way the rooms were set up and how there was a generator that you had to blow up causing the station to have a blackout and and then having to navigate to MB in complete darkness, that was the best part of the hack imho, nice work metaquarius.. I'm giving this a 10/10 for the hack and the level design, room layout, and even item progression and pathways to take to progress and of course Tourian plays a HUGE part in why I'm giving it 5 orbs and a 10/10.. I would definitely recommend this to players who want a slight challenge and change of pace
this is an amazing hack, everything about it was done exceptionally in my opinion.. the tilesets, suit palettes, enemy resprites, new layout and item progression, all of that was done well and I like this hack other than the fact that all supers (except for one that can be obtained with a tricky shinespark after collecting gravity and speed booster) are blocked by super missile blocks .. the item progression and layouts were pretty neat and the difficulty is imo slightly above vanilla difficulty because of the tricks needed for some items but anyways I had fun playing this even tho I was trying to go for a lower score and max% but nonetheless this hack was fun and I like it.. nice work TROM, 10/10 would recommend
one of the best full hacks I've played, along with redesign and phazon and a few others that I can't remember the names of atm.. I really like this hack, it's pretty cool and fun to play through.. 10/10 would recommend

the y-faster hacks (all three) are in my top 3 when it comes to speedrun hacks.. I went in with low expectations thinking it would be less than good but I was surprised to find out that I was far from the truth.. this hack is amazing and fits my difficulty level (I'm a veteran who likes veteran-level difficulty hacks or hacks that are a little more challenging than vanilla).. I can definitely agree with everyone else tho, this hack is NOT for beginners so if you're not able to handle the difficulty/challenges that this hack offers then I'd suggest playing a different hack.. it's a very fun hack but it won't be easy to complete it, it took me three tries to finally complete it and the relief I felt after completing this hack was immense.. all in all, this hack is fun to play if you have the patience to handle the difficulty. I'd definitely recommend it but only on the condition that you're not a beginner or someone who has little patience for difficult and challenging hacks

Another amazing halfhack of ZM, and to be honest, this hack is in my top 3 for ZM hacks, right next to ES Mission and Operation Execution.. I love how most of the room palettes were tweaked and there were some new features added into this hack (speedkeep and dash ball)
There really isn't nothing special about this hack tbh other than the fact that, as per the description, plasma deals less damage, chozo statue hints are removed, and unknown items are enabled upon pickup
I always found it odd how very few hacks have the speedkeep and dash ball feature but this is one of the few hacks that I've played that has it.. this hack, among others, is a really fun hack to play.. hacks are always fun when they have special features like dash ball and speedkeep (in air and on ground) and other features that make speedrunning easier since I love to speedrun hacks and out of all the ZM hacks I've played, the time it took me to finish this one is my best one yet (1:44 is the lowest I've ever got in IGT)
But other than that, this hack isn't much different than original ZM (intentional?) and it's honestly a really good halfhack/remake of a remake of nestroid. give it a shot if you want to get better at ZM, this hack is good for practicing

Too bad it's only a demo hack, I liked this hack alot while I was playing through it. and despite how short it is, it's still a phenomenal hack.. I love how the author added speedkeep in ZM because that's not something you normally see in ZM games, I also like how speed booster can break bomb blocks and how this hack is similar to SM Pantheon in the sense that there's a certain item (in both this hack and Pantheon) that you get later on in the game instead of at the beginning like with most metroid games
I think the narrative text was a nice addition. I also like the sequence breaks in this game along with the neat level design, this hack was very fun to try out. but other than that, there's nothing else too special about this hack apart from some tileset changes in some areas. anyway this hack is definitely a unique and I think it deserves a playthrough. great job caldw3ll, I'm really looking forward to playing through this hack when it's complete!

Definitely like this hack more than the last, this one might actually be my favorite of the two, in all honesty
I like how the creator added many different hacks into his hack (SR387, RTZ, Stargazer, Scrolls 6, Spooky, & Subzero). I think that was a genius idea because those 6 MZM hacks are also amazing, just like the FreezeFlame hacks and tbh I don't like MZM or even MZM hacks like that (not as much as SM anyway) but I'll give this one, and the hacks that were involved with this hack, a pass since they're the best MZM hacks I've ever played
Space Jump was wicked, especially with the way you can just spam the jump button. I like when hacks have infinite Space Jump, it's just more fun that way. but apart from the OP Space Jump item, there's nothing else to say about this hack. it's an amazing MZM hack that supersedes its predecessor while staying true to it at the same time. I HIGHLY recommend this hack if you like short MZM hacks and fwiw, I suggest checking out the hacks that were involved in this hack too because they're also amazing hacks. I would give this hack more than a 5 orb rating if only it were possible, that's how much I like this particular hack

I don't really like short/quick play hacks that much because I prefer long hacks but this hack and its sequel are an exception.. I liked the ice & fire worlds and how they both represent extreme heat (fire world) and extreme cold (ice world) and the reason why I liked them is mainly because in most Metroid hacks, there's usually only have either extreme heat (large majority of Metroid games) or extreme cold (Metroid Fusion only, I think) but never both at the same time and I'm glad the creator added both into this hack making it an entire heatrun/coldrun until you acquire Varia
I do have a few issues with the hack and it's mainly directed towards the warps/portals and the issue is where the portal teleports you to. I say that because I know that fire world portals send you to the ice world and vice versa but the exact portal it sends you to seems to be random and that's an issue for me as there's no indication that tells you which portal leads where but that's my only issue, even if it is a minor one
But other than that, this is a phenomenal short MZM hack and I like it.. really looking forward to more hacks like this in the future since I'm a fan of heatruns and hacks that have it (with the exception of Cliffhanger because of how tight it is for me in that hack). apart from all that, this is a hack I'd most definitely recommend if you like heatruns or even short hacks like this

This is definitely one of the best ZM hacks I have ever played through. I really like how beautiful Maridia looked and, in my honest opinion, Maridia looks much better in ZM than it does in SM
Gameplay was, more or less, difficult than vanilla ZM. I really liked how the inclusion of Spazer beam and the way it looks when using it is pretty cool. another thing I liked was how well done and polished green brinstar was (along with many other rooms) I love the designs used to recreate SM for ZM.
But apart from all that, this is a real good hack that I would recommend to anyone, since the difficulty isn't very high and anyone can play it. I don't really have much to say about it other than it's an amazing recreation of SM for ZM and that it is most definitely worth a playthrough

This is honestly one of the best hacks I've ever played and I'd go so far as to say this hack is in my top 3, right next to Darkholme Hospital and Subversion
The hack is a little difficult at first but the game begins to open up a little more once you pick up hi jump.. I LOVE the speed booster puzzles that involve wall jumping (which are probably all of them iirc) and it's a nice change of pace imo.I also love how Phantoon is weaker in this hack than he is in vanilla SM.. the insta-kill spikes become frustrating and annoying if you're not used to the SM Redesign-style physics but they become one less problem to worry about once you get a certain item
Anyways apart from the physics and the spikes, this hack has AMAZING graphics and design, which honestly remind me alot of Fusion. I also think adding the Unfreezable Metroids (reference to Other M) was pretty cool and I like how those metroids and the ones in Gorfair we're very weak and didn't have the strength to latch onto Samus like the grey & white metroids could
The only minor inconvenience for me was defeating Kraid and not getting any reward for it like you normally would when fighting a boss.. anyway with that being said, this hack is still a pretty good hack if you like hacks that are challenging (imo this hack beats Dependence & Golden Dawn by a LONG shot) like most challenging hacks, this hack is not for beginners or players unfamiliar with how Super Metroid is played but I'd still recommend it if you like tough or challenging hacks..

This is a phenomenal short hack and I quite like it even if most enemies infinitely respawn and do a little bit more damage than vanilla SM. I even love the room design and layouts and even the unique tilesets, it's unlike anything I've ever seen before and I think it's aesthetic visually.. I don't particularly like how slow morph ball is but the hack doesn't take long to finish so it's not much of an issue, I also like how the speed booster acts like Project Base's, allowing you to acquire a short charge in as little as a second, so don't worry if you don't know how to short charge, this hack makes it real easy for you to use the speed booster with it's almost instant methods of getting a bluesuit.. apart from that, a couple of the rooms provide a challenge when it comes to acquiring a certain item. and like the description said, don't let the small amount of rooms fool you, because they all have lots to offer. anyways this is a unique short mini hack that I would highly recommend this hack if you like short mini hacks that provide a slight challenge and are a little bit higher in difficulty than vanilla SM but as per the description, this hack is NOT recommended if you're unfamiliar with how Super Metroid is played.

like everyone else had stated, this hack is AMAZING in every possible way . there's not really anything bad that can be said about this hack.. it's one of the best hacks on MetConst and one of my personal favorites next to Darkholme Hospital and Ancient Chozo.. what I really like about the hack is how there's a slowdown feature when running or using the speed booster, the puzzles weren't too hard or too difficult, and I love howaestheticc is is visually, like some rooms are bright and some areas are dark and some are not too bright or too dark. and then there's the level design and progression which is another reason why this is a good to play if you're looking for hacks to play. the difficulty isn't too high or too low so anyone should be able to play this, I also love the inclusion of weapon/e-spark tanks, the healing/damaging mists, and even the boss fights are easy, or challenging, depending on your play style, especially crocomire since the fight is made much easier due to hyper beam blocks being available to use. I also love how the bosses and mini bosses have a HP timer thing that helps you out if you ever wonder how much HP the boss or mini boss has left.. only problem I have is that going for 100% is tedious due to the fact that once you leave each zone, there's no way to go back if you missed any items or upgrades.. but other than that, this is a GREAT hack. 10/10 would recommend

for the most part, it's a good hack of Zero Mission that uses tilesets from that of Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion and the tilesets were pretty nice and well done. and they weren't glitchy like I'd have expected considering how the SA-X/Samus sprite looks once you get Power Grip and how it looks when you're firing beam shots.. speaking of the SA-X sprite, that right there is why I can't give this hack a full 5 orbs. because for one, the beam shots don't even line up with the arm cannon in the hack and for two, using Power Grip was unsatisfying and displeasing, at least in an aesthetic sense. the GFX for the SA-X sprite are really my only complaint but I understand cause Fusion and Zero Mission are two different games with two differently designed sprites so of course there will be minor issues. I understand also because I know this must've been a difficult hack to make, and to make look polished and well done on top of that. I was going for a sub 3h run but I got lost and stuck in one area until I figured it what I did wrong and after that, I was able to progress because at the time I got stuck, I had thought this hack was unfinishable and incomplete and unplayable. but for what it's worth, this was an amazing hack imo minus the sprites but we can disregard that tho. for anyone that wants to know what this hack is like, all I can say is make sure you explore every bit of every area in this hack or you'll be left lost and confused like I was. I think exploration is a very big part of this hack so you have to be 100% sure to check everywhere because some pathways and tunnels are hidden well so unless you have keen eyesight or you're good at finding secret pathways or you just wander around and shoot aimlessly, some of the secret pathways will be difficult to find, even after acquiring Wave Beam. this hack is a 8 out of 10 at best for me and it's pretty well done for the most part so yeah I think I'd recommend it even tho some of the bosses are a bit tricky but for the most part, they shouldn't pose any real threat
not gonna go into details but it's a pretty good hack, very well done. there isn't much that I dislike about this hack or anything that I can really think of tbh. but it's still really good for a short hack and I'd probably rate this hack somewhere around a 7 or 8 out or 10 because while I love that it's a very well done exploration spoof hack, the reason I only give it a 7 or 8 out of 10 is because I'd love for it to have longer and involve much more exploration
First time ever actually playing a Fusion hack and I gotta say, I actually liked this hack.. I played it before but didn't make it halfway cause it was difficult but I managed to finish it this time and I didn't think I'd enjoy a Fusion hack as much as I enjoyed this one... it was actually fun to play through and I would've gave it 5 orbs cause this is the best Fusion hack I have ever played but the final boss battle with the Omega Metroid really annoyed me, like I usually have little to no trouble defeating it in the original Fusion game but he seemed different or even a tad bit difficult in this hack.. but nevertheless, this is one of the best Fusion hacks imo and I doubt any of the existing Fusion hacks can beat this, I'd definitely recommend this to players who like Fusion and want a challenge and a different change of pace... 8/10
it's an okay hack, it could use some minor improvements in some areas (which is why I gave it 4 orbs and not 5) but other than that, it's pretty good..one of the better full hacks to play though is Lost World,as I'd highly recommend that hack over this one even though both are pretty cool...7/10 not sure if I'd recommend but play at your own risk and beware of the changed physics

pretty awesome for a halfhack tbh, Tourian was personally my favorite area in this hack.. I also like this hack because it isn't too hard or too easy and the difficulty isn't spiked like or irregular/erratic like with most hacks, but I think the difficulty is more or less the same as SM.. but nonetheless, it's a fun and neat little hack worthy of a playthrough... 10/10 would recommend
pretty good for a halfhack of project base, I liked it and I'm surprised I didn't experience any issues like other users have commented.. this hack was pretty fun to speedrun.. 10/10 would recommend
I'm only giving it 4 orbs instead of 5 because I couldn't get the last 3 items I missed so I had to leave them and therefore missed out on 100% even tho I'm counting this as 100% because I'm gonna assume that the last 3 items I tried to get are unobtainable but yeah, this is an amazing hack.. it's definitely 10/10 and something I'd recommend playing

I'm not playing this hack again for the simple fact that there's no map (which isn't that bad when there's a hint system or some method of navigation but in this hack, you're literally blindly walking around searching for items with no clue of where you're going and on top of that, the chances of having to backtrack or even go thru the same room an excessive and unnecessary amount of times is immense.. if I had played this hack when it first came out, I'd have asked the author to fix that part of the hack, I mean it's a pretty good hack for the most part (which is why I'm only giving it 4 stars) but finding your way is the only issue that I experienced on my playthrough (or at least the only one I can think of)
pretty good for a full hack, I usually don't take 3+ hours to complete a hack since I'm a proficient speedrunner but it took me a while to get everything since I had to double and triple check the map and make sure I got everything since I usually always only go for max%/100% but anyways, this was a pretty fun hack to play through and I would definitely recommend it to people who love SM & SM hacks.. I'll give it a solid 10/10 for being a really good and fun hack
not that bad but it could've been better in my honest opinion.. but I'll give it a solid 8/10, I WOULD recommend it but I don't really know about that since I'm not sure if this hack is for beginners, casual players, or anyone past that due to some difficult tricks needed to progress
this hack is pretty good despite being unfinished/incomplete, I actually had fun with this hack

I enjoyed this hack but I hate how buffed Ridley was. tbh he's the only thing that's keeping me from giving this hack a full 5 orbs.. like goddamn why he gotta have so much fuckin health?? I mean I beat him, using cheat codes cause he's too damn difficult without it, and that's one problem I have with this hack..you have to fight Ridley to get a certain item to get wave and I hate that he's blocking the only item that'll get you to wave like maybe if he was guarding ice beam instead then beating him would be so much more doable since he's so damn difficult when you do come across him
Apart from that bs,I enjoyed the hack and it's interesting and unique level design and how all the space pirates were removed and replaced by a single space pirate that was buffed and acted sort of like the SA-X from Fusion (the SA-X appears in multiple places that you go to and even tries to hinder you by killing you on sight when it spots you)
I probably won't be playing this hack again due to the fact that I had to restart FOUR fuckin times due to the fact that I kept missing items and I FINALLY got all of them (like the person above me has stated, max item percentage is 93%) I really want to recommend this but I don't think I can, all I will say is play at your own risk and be careful when fighting Ridley, he's not like vanilla ZM Ridley so don't go easy on him..

it's a pretty good hack for the most part. I love hacks that are heavy on exploration and this hack is one of them, with the other being the prequel to this, Falling.. both this hack and Falling are heavy on exploration and that's what I like about them the most. I also love the way item/path progression has been changed, it's a fun way to explore the planet while acquiring powerups.. but I only have two problems with this hack; one of them are the bosses. they have been buffed so much that they're honestly a chore now and it'll take almost all of your missiles and supers to defeat them, Kraid & Ridley were the most difficult to me but I still managed to defeat them . I honestly never use murder beam but I had to when I got to Ridley because he had a MASSIVE HP buff and it took me a while to defeat him.. it took all my supers and nearly all my missiles to defeat Kraid... Spo Spo, Croc, Botwoon, Phantoon & Draygon were, more or less, the same as their vanilla counterparts imo.. but other than that, it's a cool hack that is definitely deserving of a playthrough if you love exploration-heavy hacks but beware of the bosses and don't enter their lair underpowered

very nice, I like the freezing and thawing theme of the hack and the way the author made it to where the enemies can thaw after being frozen. the enemies weren't too much of a challenge but the movement/physics change was at times. the lack of running and even dash meant that for me, I had to bunny hop everywhere because that was much faster than running. and speaking of jumping, the jump arc you get when jumping felt a bit off but I managed to adapt. this is a decent quick play hack that I think is worth playing, if you can get used to the physics changes and the high hp/high damage enemies
I don't really have any complaints about this hack other than maybe the physics changes when you're walljumping and walking/running but that's not really a problem since most of this hack involves TONS of platforming and you don't really need to WJ that often. I will say tho that despite how janky the physics changes are, it's worth dealing with because of the exploration that hack offers tons of so I guess this hack is worth playing but like others have said their review, GO DOWN AND GET VARIA AS SOON AS YOU CAN! because the heat run is annoying and a pain especially for how that shaft is, even tho it's the only heated room in the area that you really have to worry about. now as for the suitless underwater run that also involves ascending the tall shaft by means of platforming and using ice beam to freeze some enemies and use them as platforms, that part wasn't that difficult for me. I'm not expert player or anything, I mean I'm really good at Super Metroid and it's various hacks but idk if I'd refer to myself as a veteran but I'm probably close to that. anyways like I was saying, the suitless Maridia run wasn't too difficult for me and I managed to ascend the shaft just fine. the bosses and mini bosses were pretty easy for me to just breeze thru as was the entire hack and I managed to complete the game in just 45 minutes even tho I was trying to go for sub 45 minutes. but yeah, I don't really know what else to say other than the physics area probably the pony real issue/inconvenience in this hack but I don't think it's that big of a problem that it would be a detriment to finishing the hack since it mostly relies on platforming anyway. I'd recommend this hack just based on exploration and (probably) platforming alone, and also the fact you have infinite missiles, super missiles, and power bombs, but other than that, I don't think this hack has much else to offer or not anything else that I can think of other than being able to fire missiles and super missiles slightly faster than normal and not having to wait a few secs to use power bombs but that's really about it. personally I'd rate this hate a 7 out of 10 but only because I think it could use more polish and a BIT more work and additional changes but I'm not complaining because it's fine just the way it is.. max item count is 32% btw
I love the Weekend hacks and this one is just as good as the others. this one is pretty good for a quick play hack tbh, I'd definitely recommend and I personally think it's worth your time

it's an OK hack, not bad but not good either.. but that's just my opinion :) if I had to rate it, I'd give it a 5 outta 10
not my best time but I'll let it slide.. anyways about this hack, yeah it's an okay hack, a little challenging in some areas and difficult in others which require you to think and act fast. not gonna drop any spoilers but just be warned that there is a certain item that's 100% missable and you have to get it immediately or else miss out on it and the path to said item isn't easy, I would call it a minor inconvenience but that would be an understatement since I'm fairly good at SM hacks and am somewhere between intermediate and veteran but alas even I struggled with getting one item in particular but I still overcame the challenge and acquired the item but I digress
the hack does require certain skills (check the description of this hack) and you need them to get 100%. now I may not have gotten 100% which sucks considering I used a map for this hack but I couldn't find any other items so I gave up but yeah, this hack is somewhat fun, I'd recommend it if you like rage quitting or if you like a challenge cause as others above me have stated, this IS a challenge hack so be forewarned and pkay at your own risk
I think I'll rate this a solid 8 outta 10 and that's only because one item in particular was troublesome and difficult to obtain and there's also the escape sequence, you have enough time to escape but not enough to escape AND save the animals so that's why I rate it 8/10.. wouldn't recommend to anyone tbh cause they might end up rage quitting

This hack was ok in my opinion, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either, it was just a decent solid hack and I would give it 5 stars/orbs but there was one boss in particular that frustrated me a lot among other things in this hack that annoyed me hut other than that, I don't think this hack is TOO hard but it's just a bit more challenging so play at your own risk... anyways I'll give this hack a solid 8/10
it's an ok hack, pretty good in some areas and I like the fact that you can use crumble blocks however you want once you obtain a certain item.. I also like that missiles were changed to "shotgun shells" and supers were changed to "sticky grenades" but other than that, the hack doesn't hold up as well as the first 2 but that's just my opinion so don't judge me... 5/10 not sure if I'd recommend tbh but play it if you wanna complete the trilogy
better than Competition and much less frustrating imo, 6/10 would recommend
not bad, could use some improvement in some areas but other than that, it's a fun little hack to play through for about half an hour and difficulty isn't too high or too low.. 7.5/10 would recommend to everyone since it's not a hack that doesn't require much skill and it's also a quick play hack

it's not that good of a hack but I give it 3 orbs because it could be worse.. it isn't the best or the worst hack and for that, I'll give it a 5/10.. I wouldn't recommend playing this unless you like rage quitting ALOT.. the boss and miniboss fights are annoying to no end and the way those boss/miniboss rooms are set up is just plain dumb to me (except BT tho).. but yeah if you wanna ruin your day and waste hours of your time then this is the hack for you :)
seeing as how it's just a remake of SM with rooms designed differently but still made to resemble their counterparts from original SM (hence the "Familiar" name), I can only give it 3 orbs since it's nothing any different than original SM other than progression order, room layout, item placement, and hidden pathways with little to no indication that they're there but other than that, this hack isn't bad, not sure if the difficulty is spiked or not but it did seem a little bit more tricky in some areas and rooms but other than that, this hack is a solid/10 and I think anyone can play this hack and enjoy it fairly well
not bad, it's honestly better than the other two rotation hacks and is on par with UpTroidDown.. 6/10
just like I said in my review for Mirrortroid, UpTroidDown, and Rotation, this hack is very challenging and is worth a playthrough, it's not a bad hack but just not the best.. 5/10
it's an ok hack, 5/10
I'm gonna be honest here, this hack was different than what I was expecting but I'll give credit where it's due, this hack is pretty unique from other hacks, even vanilla ones like this.. I don't mind the hellruns since I love a good challenge but it does tend to get annoying at times especially when you're fighting Ridley or GT hence why I said the constant slow HP drain can get annoying after a while.. the lack of walljump and ibj isn't much of a problem to me but I think removing it was unnecessary, at least IBJ in my opinion but the new trick to bomb jumping is pretty cool I guess.. I'm only giving 3 stars because of the lack of walljump, ibj, and varia suit but other than that, I like the hack despite boost ball not being as good as I hoped and also the fact that Hi Jump & Spring Ball are packaged together which normally would be good but Spring Ball's jump height isn't as high as in vanilla and like one other user said, boost ball should be turned off since it reduces morph ball jump height and makes it hard to use Spring Ball but anyways this is a pretty good hack imo. very nice tilesets HUD design, and suit color palettes and of course INFINITE SPACE JUMP :)... 7/10 not sure if I'd recommend but play it at your own risk and make sure you use the recharge and save stations if you're trying to not rage quit due to frustration because this hack is definitely a little bit more difficult than vanilla SM (Max% is 66%)
not bad for a shrunken down Super Metroid hack, 10/10 would recommend
the endgame part of the hack was pretty cool and unique and very interesting (especially with that difficult-to-execute shinespark trick) but in all honesty, I don't think I'll be playing this hack again after I finish it, I usually don't mind mapless hacks but this one is an exception tho and I don't like the fact that there's no map in the hack..also the hack was much too glitchy for me (which is why I can't give it a full 5 orbs despite how good of a playthrough it was for me so for me it's a 4 orb hack at best) and idk why it was but I almost rage quit because of that but thankfully, graphical glitches can be fixed by resetting the emulator/console and restarting from the save point in the emulator/console other than that issue (and the fact that there's NO map whatsoever), it was a pretty good hack.. 8/10 probably wouldn't recommend but go for it if you want
not bad for a Super Metroid style remake of Nestroid but it could've been better imo.. this hack would've been so much better if a couple things were changed around but I'm not really concerned about it since it isn't a remake of nestroid but in sm so that's to be expected, the jumping physics is a little janky and odd but other than that, the hack is very enjoyable.. 8/10 would recommend only if you can handle the wonky physics (ibj is also slightly different but mostly somewhat the same as vanilla sm, more or less)
shoulda been called Super Metroid In Reverse or Super Metroid Backwards since that seems to be what this hack is mainly about, Super Metroid in reverse... I can't really say anything about it because everything I can say about vanilla SM would apply to this hack since this hack isn't nothing special (other than starting the game with 100% items and having to put them all back AND Tourian being removed). it was a fun experience tho, would definitely recommend

I almost quit halfway thru but chose to finish it since I was already halfway thru and after I killed draygon with a single perfectly timed spark and picked up vortex jump (space jump), I kinda wanted to finish the hack and now that it's done, I can say it was fun in some areas but for the most part, I didn't like the hack... not worth the punishment or the time, if you want hacks that'll punish you then go play Golden Dawn or Dependence instead

nice hack MST
eternal shaft is honestly the best part of this hack, I honestly liked fighting Ridley while free falling and I also liked the excessive use of shaktool.. this hack isn't the best imo but it's pretty solid and a hack I guess is worth playing.. nice job MST, you did well on this hack, for the most part.

this hack and Space Junk are currently my two favorite short hacks, lemme explain why.. first of all, I loved the addition of the 2 extra suits and I'd love to see this in a full hack or at least expanded version of this hack, or maybe even in a new hack..secondly, I like the level design. and last but not least, the physics that were used, it's like I always say; hacks that utilize the speedkeep or respin physic are the best because it makes speedrunning (which is something I love to do btw) easier. I also love the new beam designs and palettes and even the suit palettes.. nice work on this amazing short hack Mentlegen, hope to see more hacks like this in the near future :)

just like the last hack, this one is amazing and phenomenon too, especially for a hack of the quick play genre. I'd definitely recommend this to people who love quick play hacks

this hack is decent but I liked the enemy resprites though, very unique and different. I didn't like the Ascent-style physics but they aren't that bad since the hack is short enough for the physics to not be problematic

It's a pretty good hack imo. I like short/quick play hacks and this one is a decent one.. I really like the Doom theme the most even though I'm not that big of a Doom fan. the only thing that was a little strange was the space jump but that's about it. and like many others have stated, there's nothing special about this hack but it's a good hack to play if you like short hacks

I know Metroid II is supposed to be in black & white but I actually like this version better than the OG M2.. the colors make the game look so much better and the colors are beautiful too, especially the colors used for Varia but other than that, not much is different since it's just a color patch for Metroid II
it's an ok hack imo.. the only thing I do like about it is that you can rapid fire your supers (the super missiles damage is unchanged btw) but other than that, I have nothin more to say about it

very short hack with nice visuals, but that doesn't take away the fact that No competition is better than this and is much more recommended than this monstrosity of a hack (because of that grapple room, which is think is pure unadulterated evil and I also think the author intentionally put that there to watch players suffer but that's just my honest opinion, and that spore spawn fight) that frustrates you to no end and for that, I cannot recommend this to anyone.. like others have stated, I also agree with them and think that NonCompetition should be played instead of this, 2/10 do NOT recommend under NO circumstances
same as last hack, it's ok. not worth the time tho

Metroid Depression by Silver Wing [ Exploration],

You know, I see now why this hack is called Metroid Depression, because that's exactly what you will get during and after playing this hack so I mean at least this hack lives up to its name, it's a very accurate and fitting name for this hack because this hack most certainly will make you feel depressed after you finish playing it. and just going by the description alone, even without playing the hack, I know for a fact that Samus Aran won't be the only person who has Depression, because everyone who plays this hack will have it too afterwards lol
All jokes aside though, I can't fathom why the author would even publish and upload this monstrosity of a hack. I know that this is the author's first time and that Super Metroid is indeed hard to hack but I don't think he should've published and uploaded this hack unless he was 100% certain that it was playable from start to finish. I mean the poor choices for tile palettes are the least of your concern, I mean apart from the fact that this hack has literally NO title sequence or menu screen. oh and this hack also is not finishable either because like the description says "the game ends on an intentional softlock".
I couldn't in good conscience recommend this hack to anyone because I don't wanna bear the burden of having them be subjected to having their retinas assaulted by the worst color palettes imaginable, poor tiling and enemy placement, and all the other issues this hack has. I don't think anyone should suffer or torture themselves with this hack. don't waste your time playing it, it's not finishable, and it's just all around bad. there's plenty of other bad hacks that are actually FUN bad but this hack is just BAD bad. I wish I could say this is the worst hack but that would be a lie since I've played much worse hacks than this. the amount of disappointment and sadness that this hack has given me is immeasurable

there's nothin good that can be said about this hack other than it could be worse.. it's not as bad as everyone says it is but it's still pretty bad. item progression and progression in general is just stupid.. I got halfway then stopped and quit after defeating phantoon because it's just not worth playing. DON'T PLAY THIS UNLESS YOU HATE YOURSELF!!
