Description

The only really playable version of opposition. Very old ugly beta. The project is cancelled, however if you want to access the final area, collect all 4 chozo keys and you can access it. Once you collect the final 2 items in the final area, wait at the elevator till the message "Return to ship" appears and go to the ship and you can leave the planet triggering the ending (patch 1.4). Attached are also the maps and details for 72% runs (the current 100%).

Please note: The last elevator going up may softlock, save and retry going up and it should load correctly.

Actually, I thought this way a great hack. Nice looking environment Chozo keys to collect as well. Why didn't anyone finish this one lol so close. Actually the last boss is Ridley where Dragon was supposed to be

Despite what the description may indicate, Draygon is the last of the four bosses, and in fact Tourian is the only part of the hack that isn't done, so this is very nearly a full experience. And it's actually a pretty good one at that, with interesting theming, design, and layout going on. And yes, this is a full Exploration-class hack.

The Fallen Lab/Wrecked Ship is the only complaint I have with the visuals — it's just way too dark and I had to set the gamma on my emulator all the way down to be able to tell what I was doing, even after defeating Phantoon. All of the rooms in Azure Valley/Crateria on the way to Tourian are also too dark, but apart from grabbing an item, that pathway is really linear, so :/ (Airy had the same problem in one room.)

Note that there will be a number of items that you can't get right away but will be marked on your map (and at least one misplaced item dot), so if you like me try to avoid marking item dots unless you actually get the item, you'll be frustrated. I did manage to get a number of items early, or at least I think they were obtained earlier than intended, so there's that.

The color of Ice Beam and frozen enemies also changes depending on what you stack with it, which I also found neat.

Regardless, still pretty good, and definitely worth finishing in the state that it was left in.

I don't know what my final item count is, but my final item tallies are 10 energy tanks, 3 reserve tanks, 160 missiles, 21 super missiles, 11 power bombs, and all normal collectables except Plasma Beam and Screw Attack. I forget exactly what the relevant item was called, but going to the statue room reveals I only obtained two of the items that unlock Tourian.

(I'd rate 3.75 or so, but since I can't do that, have 4 because it really isn't a bad hack!)

This is really good. Custom graphics and music. Even the boss and item graphics were custom. Im not a hacker, but I am sure this took a lot of effort and time. The design was really good, not very hard, but fun exploration. Even had cold damage instead of heat. This is the kind of hack that had it been finish, should have had a trailer, forum thread, the whole nine yards. Not sure why it was abandoned, but I really appreciate getting to play it in its state and it would be awesome if finished one day. Thank you Mccad

Maridia is a nightmare, giant sidehoppers everywhere, & permastucks in the sand.
Comes with the sickest looking tileset though.

This hack could have been unreal. Some areas lack polish like Maridia but overall it's fun and generally well designed. I'm surprised the author didn't just finish this, it's so close to the finish line. Regardless this was a pleasant experience. Thanks to the creator for sharing even just this portion of his hard work as it was well worth my time playing what was here.

DO NOT let the single preview image, dull description, lack of forum post visible here, or "incomplete" status drive you out from playing this masterpiece. I've played almost all high ranked SM hacks out there, and this is definitely in my top 5. Progression always felt natural and I never felt like I was too lost. This was definitely going to be one of the best hacks out there if 100% completed.

Also, one of the HARDEST first powerbomb pickups I've ever collected. Was that even the intended way? I don't know, but man was it fun going up that room.

Very sad to hear the project is officially scrapped in favor of it turned into an Indie game, but nonetheless great work and hope your new game can be just as good as this :)

an almost complete hack with very interesting ideas, that once it'll be complete could become a very enjoyable full hack. can't wait to play the revised version in the future.
was enjoyable also fixing some of the problems and such.
thanks for this early release ver. mccad and anyone that worked for it.

I've Changed my rating of this hack. It isn't impossible to play. Just REALLY difficult IF you go the WRONG WAY after you get a new power up. If you go to underwater giant side hopper land UNPREPARED, you will die VERY QUICKLY.

Not finished yet, gonna rate it 5 stars from the get go.
This is a great romhack as far as map design and graphics and everything. It is unfinished and unpolished but every hack that brings good custom music is an auto star up for me. Regardless of the soundtrack being a compilation of Metroid and Metroidvania songs.
