Want to kill boredom? This hack is here for you. The custom soundtrack, along with certain ideas in this hack, will make for an interesting experience for this hack of Zero Mission.

Definitely learned some new things when playing this. If you're looking for tricks techniques, this one and its sequel will certainly show you them.

I've only recently hear about Vitality, and waited anxiously for the release. And, needless to say...

It was amazing. The detail Dman puts into his hack is one thing, and Vitality steps it up. It definitely felt like I was exploring a whole new world. Some developers of Super Metroid hacks struggle to tell their hacks' stories. And yet, Vitality delivers. While I only needed some help with finding out where to go in the beginning, the rest of my playthrough was a phenomenal experience to witness, up until the end. And I loved it all.

Since the other reviews don't intend on spoiling the story, this review will follow in the non spoiler review group.

I highly, highly, HIGHLY, recommend playing this. It is one experience most deserving of a blind playthrough. Congratulations on an amazing hack, Dman. ^-^

Such a short hack, but holy moly, this was quite funny for it being such a short hack. Loved the changed title screen, and the rest was history. Didn't question what happened at the end, but it definitely was quite a playthrough.
Recommended, even if it is on the short side.
Edit: Fixed completion time.

This hack can make certain rooms easier or a lot more different to traverse. And seeing as there is no upside down gates, there are other ways to still head to the objective at hand, some off the top of my head being the path on the way to Wrecked Ship, and Spazer Beam.

Some places may seem impossible, like the Etecoon room and Spore Spawn, but it simply means you have to go around where you normally exit from those rooms. And in the case of Spore Spawn, it's more difficult than the Etecoon room.

I'm also not sure if the way of going through Golden Torizo was intended to be soft locked once you lowered (risen, in this case of UpTroidDown) the acid, as the way back after leaving the room just reappears with hardly another method out. (Or if there was one, I missed it.)

If you're looking to explore Zebes in a whole new way, then this one might be a trip worth experiencing.

Haven't gotten that many issues playing it, as I've only died once, but an otherwise neat concept. Would recommend if you want to waste some time playing a linear hack.

Short Metroid Hack that mixes up the normal tilesets with a recreational tileset of Fusion's tile. Enjoyed the level design despite me still not being used for Metroid 1's jump physics.

A short hack that has graphics from Metroid II: Samus Returns. Finding progression at first annoyed me because I had to shoot at a random tile in hopes of finding missiles after getting Morph Ball. Other than that, it was smooth sailing from there. A good hack to play through if you want to waste some time.

Theming was great, and the layout was fine overall. Got a tad bit stuck on Ice-Ridley because I'm used to fighting him with Charge Beam, and had to take my time with him.
All items collected. Completion time is based on IGN time, since I forgot to time myself for RTA.
Recommend if you're bored and want to complete something simple that isn't a big hack.

Didn't get a chance to do a review after I finished this. Great timing me. But yeah, this hack is super funny on a blind playthrough. Didn't get a chance to read every text, but all the text that was changed was pretty good. Has little replayability after playing once, but other than that, definitely recommended.
Completion time is based on in-game time.

Despite donning the DOOM title, there isn't much that gives me the vibe. Space Jump being replaced by a double jump was qute interesting, though there isn't much aside from the room designs, and I feel 'eh' about them. If there was DOOM music implemented, that would at least fix part of the reason why it's called DOOMtroid.

This hack is quite interesting, and personally, one of the better Chinese hacks than the ones I've seen so far.
Some of the level designs are good, and some of them are meh, though it could be difficult to tell how progression can be told; as this hack does allow free reign to explore to your hearts content. I think I've only found two airblocked airducts throughout this hack, and I only had to check Glitch's stream for where on earth Wide Beam was. Apart from that, I had found almost everything by myself. Bosses are in locations you wouldn't expect them to be, but can still be tough to decipher which items are good for. Wasn't a huge fan of having Screw Attack and Speedbooster be tied to the Select button, but I suppose it fulfills a button use rather than having Select not be used at all. Door lock progression also falls into figuring out where the hell one's supposed to go, so that ties in with having to consciously backtrack to find some progression.
Custom music is a plus. Quite curious on what the actual anime songs were used for the ending and game over screen. There were also a few unused enemies like the Ki Hunter Nest and Skree-X's. Loved the room where Nightmare was located, but was kind of irked on how entering Yakuza from the back essentially softlocks you. I also didn't like Ridley's room, kind of wish it can be expanded a bit so that the player has more room to dodge his attacks.
Beam explosions either appeared under the player or under the enemy itself, and I don't know how this happened. It just looks weird. There's also some parts of the hack where the game will lag, and sometimes not complete SFX because the SFX began to compete with another SFX. There were also a few times in my playthrough that the game froze, which resulted in a reset. Bombs also are converted into ammo, and PBs uses 10 per use, for some strange reason. Didn't like that, could've been just fine having bombs and PBs as is in the base game. Other than that, the game is playable, and you'll have to be quite the explorer to look through every nook and cranny.
Full completion set is 2000 Energy, 300 missiles, and 150 PBs, though I pretty much got 130 PBs, 1500 Energy, and 190 missiles. Got an ending percentage that says 100, so I'm gonna assume that this wasn't tweaked with what the author intended.
Finished.
Would recommend.

I was gonna time this for RTA, but I ended up getting stuck on a few parts of this hack, and ended up using savestates, not even bothering with the RTA anymore, so the time is based on IGT for the sake of completion states. I also ended up having to use MAGE to see some solutions to some rooms. Which, yeah, kind of ruins some point in a blind run, so that's just an issue with me not collecting enough items to the point of being able to trial and error some puzzles.

On with the actual hack itself, I enjoyed playing it. Sure, due to me going in blind and expecting item locations to stay, which obviously wouldn't, I had to deal with more deaths due to me not getting enough E-Tanks, but I managed to pick up some around the end of the game out of safety. Power Bombs makes finding them easy, just sometimes getting to them isn't as obvious. There's also one Missile Tank in Sector 1 that I just don't know how to get to, even with PBs. Given that it's just retiled rooms, I enjoyed seeing the changes in some sectors, while irked by some others. (i.e. Power Core Area when going to Yakuza has a maze for some darn reason, Sector 4 requires using speed booster to get to the elevator to the Main Deck.) Some bosses also gave me trouble from time to time, but the last few bosses at the end didn't prove to be troubling with their new room layouts.

Overall, probably one of the only good few Chinese hacks that doesn't go too crazy with tricks or room designs while still keeping to the vanilla map of Fusion.

I liked how short some of the sectors are, but sadly around AQA, some speedboost strats are required, and the one in NOC was where I gave up at. I would've loved to see the rest of the hack, but I guess that'll be forever locked due to this darn difficult shinespark sequence. :l
From what I've seen, I definitely enjoyed the hack, just would've wished there was an alternative way for those who aren't speedboost experts in Fusion to see the rest of the hack.
Don't recommend due to the shinespark difficulty.

A neat little idea of a permanent speedbooster. It allows for potential Suitless Maridia/access to Lower Norfair without Space Jump, which extends routing options.

Course, this means you can't simply jump while standing still just to shoot a beam or missile, but is otherwise beatable. Personally didn't beat it myself because I merely wanted to test this out, and it gets a decent rating for at least having the concept be there. If this was attatched to a hack that was based all around the name of this patch, then I'd bump it up to a three or four, but that would've been more time put into making such things possible.

There's better...well built boss rushes out there that isn't at least partially broken like this. One major confusion I found was where the room leading to Botwoon (apparently, from what I could guess, it was intended to be a shortcut to the save room), but somehow entering Botwoon's room from the top of the room upon going to the very left of the Maridia Glass Tube causes a game crash.

Also, despite me picking up E-Tanks from the Maridia Glass Tube the first time, upon going down to use the save room and coming back out, they respawned--presumably after the room state changed, and even upon re-entering the room caused them to reappear. No idea if the creator intended for those to be there, considering there's more E-tanks near Draygon's room, or if they didn't decide to remove them in the room state change because the player might 'skip' them.

There's tile errors here and there, and a few clipdata errors (there's two blocks in the Grapple Beam room that are just air tiles, there's at least a few air tiles where Plasma is + mislocated tiles, etc).

Kind of weird that it forces you to take a partial normal route, and hoping you'd notice the door to Draygon be where you just entered from, though. No idea if that was an intentional decision, or if something happened during testing phase.

Finished.
Don't recommend. There's many other boss rush hacks out there; if you want to waste time with this one, don't let me stop you--just know that there's much better and polished hacks out there worth your time playing.

Some rooms were cool, some weren't. Sector 4 was nice, but losing to Serris meant you got to backtrack all the way to Serris again just for another shot. Hack ends at PYR, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Don't like the airduct maze in Sector 1, and maps were kind of broken.
Unable to give completion time.
Don't recommend due to the incompleteness of the hack.

This hack REAAAAALLY loves its hidden elevators. And as far as I've checked in Sector 1, it's REALLY annoying. Having visual cues for them would've helped, or preferably, not include hidden elevators at all.
1 hour and five minutes RTA was around the time I stopped entirely, after freeing the last air stabilizer.
Didn't finish, don't recommend.

So, apart from the surprise SA-X in the second room, this game forces a soft lock on Missiles that if you didn't explore through the Main Deck to find one Missile tank (which I found legitimately), one gets in a forced placement to cheat just to progress. The way to Serries requires shooting a missile above a door, and the way to the water pump requires a tight shinespark.
Edit: Managed to get through Water Pump room legit through a hidden elevator in the room, and got to the security room in PYR with a speedboost jump, followed by a precise shinespark to get into the door frame. Hack doesn't change much after that, since the entrances of NOC and ARC are altered to require speedboosting through them. Stopped after acquiring Wide Beam.
Do not recommend, did not finish.
