Best hack of 2022. Period!
This hack was totally worth the wait!
First time I played this hack, I could never figure out where to go or what to do next. I even landed myself going up against the Gold Torizo statue while underpowered. Even going back and forth from Norfair and Maridia trying to find Power Bombs and other power-ups.
I eventually found out that this hack can be easily sequence broken because you can get items like High Jump Boots, Spazer, Wave Beam, Space Jump, and even the Gravity Suit early (if you know how to use the Super Missile propelling technique to propel yourself upwards).
One thing I really like was the use of the gates. Going on a wild goose chase to find and unlock the 15 gates blocking your way to Tourian as well as 5 random gates blocking your way to the Screw Attack upgrade.
All in all, Hyper Metroid was a really fun hack to play through and I will be recording a play through of this hack soon once I get a good feel of the hack and know everything about it.
5/5.

Let me be the first one to say this: This hack kicked ass. What I really loved about this hack was the orchestrations of the music. The reorchestrated music sounded sexy. For most the songs in the hack, I sat there saying, "Man, sometimes I wish the music were like this.". This hack was simply amazing.
It's too bad I could never find Spazer anywhere.

Is it just me, or do these updates to this hack get better and better? As an speedrunner in training, this hack is any speedrunner's dream.
Best rom hack I have ever played. Great job, Grime!

Easily one of the best Fusion hacks out there alongside Adam, Please. If only I could've got that stupid "Warning! No entry without Authorization!" voice to shut up. After I obtained Wave Beam, the voice just would not shut up.
Ya know, for a hack built on the Project Base engine, this is not that bad. I like the tile sets, especially in Maridia, the rework on Samus' sprite; I like the idea of being able to activate crumble blocks by performing a backflip. I also like the faster charge beam, helps make some boss fights go by faster. However, I have some complaints with this hack like that one room with the Turtle and the giant statue in Maridia. Why is that a thing? I needed over 30 Supers in order to get that E-Tank and on top of that the little "eye" doesn't really drop Supers and it doesn't help the fact that it takes a lot of Charge Beam shots to even "kill" it. I think that was a very bad idea. I didn't like the whole finding X-Ray during the escape sequence. It was redundant IMO. I don't know why Spo-Spo's room needed to be filled with water. At least it wasn't like Super Metroid Wet Dream where there is dark water EVERYWHERE! It made an already tedious boss fight even more tedious and drawn out which is why I opt to skip Spo-Spo in the original Super Metroid. Another problem I have with this hack: Spikes. Spikes everywhere. There are spikes in certain rooms and in certain parts that one would never go and it's even worse when you can't tell if the stalactites are spikes or not. It makes this even more frustrating at the start of the game since spikes hit you for 60 points of health. I might be nitpicking, but this is what I think about the hack.
I want to give this a 3.5/5, but I don't know how... It's a great hack, but nowhere near the best.

One of my favorite hacks.

I would rate this hack 2 1/2 orbs if I could. This hack was absolutely frustrating and tedious. For starters, Falling has no Hi-Jump or Ice Beam which are two crucial powerups needed to properly explore the various rooms. I don't mind that the bosses have more health, but what ruined it for me is that Phantoon can basically one shot you if you don't at least have Gravity Suit, even if you have a lot of E-Tanks. You can barely explore Norfair because Varia is guarded by Botwoon. Because of these glaring issues, this hack reached my Recycle Bin. This is how NOT to make a Veteran level hack. Super Metroid Falling, more like Super Metroid FAILing.

The Good:
- The twin door idea.
The Bad:
- The constant running around in circles and backtracking from one place to the next just to collect 1 item to reach one other area where you can unlock a gate.
- The physics takes some getting used to.
Overall: Fun and nice looking hack, but it gets very tedious after a while and anyone can get lost if you're not careful.

Meh, nothing really worth talking about with this hack. It was still kinda fun recording.

I dunno if I patched it to a bad rom, but being unable to save makes it extremely difficult for me to record.
The floaty mechanics this hack has makes it one of the most annoying hacks out there. Don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty good hack nonetheless.

The only thing that keeps me from rating this hack a 4 or a 5 is the item locations. Some of them are near impossible to get without using some kind of tricks used in TAS speedruns. So me getting 100% on this hack is out of the question.

Not really much too this hack. It's just Samus fighting against Ridley with better AI coding and a lot more health. So easy for me to record and upload to Youtube.

Well... at least it's better than the Cristener Homenag hacks. That's about it. Nothing much to say about this hack.

I'd rather play Metroid: Other M than play this hack ever again. I urge you to never download this hack because there are better hacks on the Metroid Construction forum and this is definitely not one of them. You know what? This is good in its own little way. It's good because it shows those who want to make hacks how not to make a Super Metroid hack. Don't do it how this guy did it.

SM Redesign: Axeil Edition by Drewseph [ Exploration],

This review is based on v1.2. The original Redesign is a classic. It has its flaws, but it has always been one of my favorites. With Axeil Edition, it doesn't feel the same, but not in a good way. I mean that this hack sucks! There are a few good things about the hack such as the map, the hint system, easier to execute wall-jumping, auto morph ball, and the new morph ball looks cool. However, the bad outweighs the good and believe me, Drew has done more bad than good in the earlier versions.
Here's all the bad things this hack had to offer:
- Drew's intention in recreating this hack is done in such an irritating and poor manner. For a hack that was supposed to be made easier, he doesn't know how to properly balance it. What he tends to do a lot is take things out and replace it with something worse. I.E.: making a room easier, but adjusting it back to being irritating.
- Arm-pumping resets your momentum. It's like Drew hates when the speedrun community speedruns/TASes his hacks for some reason, so he decided to make this hack as anti-speedrunny as possible.
- Being unable to jump off crumple blocks. If I screw up a puzzle and fall on a crumple block, then why do you want us to try again from the start?
- Hack is extremely hand-holdy. What I mean is that this is like some kind of control freak-esque hack where Drew is basically saying "If you're gonna play my hack, you're gonna play how I want you to. Not how you want to.". This is Super Metroid, this game was supposed to allow players to explore. You might as well just take away the player's controller/keyboard.
- Screw Attack is worthless. What I mean is that certain enemies can damage you and even knock you out of Screw Attack. I dunno what you were thinking with this one Drew. Like I would understand making it so people can't get it super early like in the original, but this is Screw Attack I am talking about. This powerup is supposed to be the player's safety net, a means to protect us/kill enemies and since you move a lot faster when using Screw Attack, we'll be hitting enemies a lot.
- And here is the final nail in the coffin; The straw that broke the camel's back; the thing that makes me say this is the worst hack of 2015: Tourian as a whole. Oh... My... God! What a train wreck. The difficulty spike just skyrockets from this point onward. First of all, the Metroids love to avoid your shots and to make things even more annoying, they quickly latch on to you like a magnet and it's not like they all latch on to you, it's more like one at a time. When you bomb one off of you, the next one does. Bombing the Metroids is the only way to stun them so you can freeze them. Purple doors. Purple doors everywhere! Almost every door was locked with a purple door which is 25 missiles/5 Super Missiles. And let's not forget about the primary reason why Tourian was monotonous: Searching for the Zebetites to shut off the lasers. This was an interesting concept on paper, but the execution was poor. I spent at least an hour and a half trying to locate the first one. I didn't know it was in the first room after descending the elevator.
If you asked me about Axeil Edition, all I will tell you is this: IT'S JUST BAD!!!
I wish I could give this 1.5/5.
