Winner: Super Hauntroid by Scyzer
Good things do come in small packages. Event Horizon brings the player to a black hole, with a planet in the middle. Immediately, the player is met with bombastic music, followed by a room with rising acid. At the start you realize everything is trying to kill you. Transparencies are used, a boss is fought twice. Underwater currents aid you in your quest. And you find that DSO has some very interesting and tricky little puzzles himself. Not to mention, some custom ASM added in.

The lack of music is pretty creepy. What are these things that appear out of nowhere, but damage me when I shoot them? Why am I being chased by ghosts in a strange, dark, barren landscape? Super Hauntroid will keep you on your toes as you blast through ephemeral ectoplasmic entities as well as rocky landscapes to find them and recover your gear. Another great work after last year's winner, Snowglobe, by the same brilliant hack author known as Sadiztyk Fish (or Scyzer, as she goes by now.) There's a surprise waiting for you at the end... what could it be?
