One of Hyper Metroid's biggest strengths is how incredibly open the hack is from the beginning - at times to a fault. The hack presents a myriad of ways to approach its challenges, its areas, and doesn't force the player down any particular path. This can (and has) lead to wildly varying playthroughs for individual players, and though this isn't always positive, it's impossible to deny that Hyper Metroid was a world built for the user to explore and uncover for themselves.

Lost World comes in close second here, but Hyper Metroid manages to make the exploration exciting and engaging for how much there is to discover. Plenty of secrets and routes.

Hyper Metroid is huge with much to see and do. Definitely one of my favorite hacks and worthy of Best Exploration 2015.

As with the morphball of this trophy, this goes to Hyper, you cant go wrong with Hyper, it feels like a second super metroid with a more modern feel. It being really open in exploration encourage multiple plays.
