Hyper Metroid brilliantly combines the original game's graphics and tilesets with rich palettes and subtle tweaks to construct a world that seems familiar yet foreign, even to those of us who have played myriad hacks. It encapsulates what makes Super Metroid hacks great, and even to this day holds up as one of the most gorgeous Metroid hacks ever made. RealRed's eye for colour and design shines through in the aesthetics of Hyper Metroid.

All of these are quite good though Hyper Metroid impressed me the best visually. SLG almost got my vote but I felt that its backgrounds were hard to separate from foreground, as they are too bright.

Hyper does one thing well. That's this category.

They all have good visuals, Lost World having the more unique being lost exploration aesthetics and SLG is also unique and lush. But Hyper, while not being really unique, edges everyone in term of simply "Does the overall screen looks good", in Hyper every colors pop, the black n white contrast is respected and everything is easily readable.
