Containment Chamber is a very unusual hack, making use of Super Metroid's unique mechanics and bugs/glitches all around. It uses these excellently, and manages not to feel stale.

SLG had alot of new asm going and many cool ideas, at the time and even today, it still is one of the most creative gameplay wise when throwing it in the big sea of hacks. I mean its the one who has started room names :)

Redesign: Axeil Edition's creativity comes from subtly tweaking the tried and true mechanics of Super Metroid to emphasise the need to explore and unravel the world Drewseph built. A major strength of the Metroidvania genre is exploration and finding secrets, and Redesign's Zebes is a fantastic example of this, with plenty of secrets to uncover, and an entire secret gameplay experience ready to challenge the player and push them to the very limit. Redesign is a monolithic hack, and though it does nothing particularly new, it pulls the user in with its highly refined approach to the Metroidvania formula.

Redesign axeil edition had a lot of new puzzles never seen before, and even it's own totally new epic powerbomb challenge, which really deserves credit.

Say what you want about Metroid Mission Rescue - yes, I checked which hacks there are from 2015 in general, besides just the nominated ones, to compare them all - but when it's considered outside of opinion-skewing bias influence such as that which may originate from how the hack does on other fundamentals relevant to the quality of hack design, after I gave the comparison of it with all the other nominated hacks extended consideration time, I have come to the conclusion that as far as 'Most Creative Gameplay' is concerned, it is my conviction that it is the true strongest candidate for this particular hack award category.
