As a preface, I picked "scrub" difficulty because it's funny. We'll get back to that.
I took my time to beat this, because I haven't played a new Metroid game to completion in over 8 years. I also idled for a while, so my time is an estimate, and includes multiple deaths and lost progress(one to invincible pirates and once to early Mecha Ridley). It plops you right in, and is a good ole Metroid experience. The progression is on point, and it gets the basics down...and does a little trolling. The "Gravity Suit" had me fooled, but suitless underwater seems to be required, and alone is the only major downside (unless you get tired of this pretty ice tileset). I couldn't find plasma beam for a while, and felt quite dumb after spending mutiple minutes attempting some crazy shenanigans with shinespark before realizing I needed to go...straight up. GIT GUD was a masterful touch. I was dying laughing, BEFORE my brother informed me it doesn't appear on normal (or at least, he didn't find it), and that made it even funnier. 4/5
EDIT: I looked down to write this review...and then I looked at the DS, and it told me once more.
Didn't beat it, but it has been quite funny. The only issue is menus are impossible to navigate because of how nonsensical they are. Besides that, nice.
