I played this hack around a year ago and did 2 playthroughs back to back.
I can't overstate how beautiful this game looks and sounds, it's Nestroid meets Late-NES action games and I could not be happier.
The map design improves on Nestroid's by better telegraphing where items are required to progress while keeping its non-linearity intact, the new abilities slot in seamlessly in the original game's controls and make the world so much more fun to traverse.
I absolutely recommend this to anyone who's a fan of the original Metroid, Metroid-like games or both.
