Description
All 5 areas of Zebes have been drastically altered; there are new palettes, new room layouts, new map layouts, new enemy locations, a few new enemies, and some old enemies with new tricks that may surprise you… Metroid - Zebian Illusion is very challenging, much more than the original Metroid. Think that all you have to do to get the Round Ball is to go to the left of the starting point and claim your prize? Think again! Items have been moved to harder to reach places. And entrances that used to be simple to reach have been hidden and swamped with enemies.

What the fuck? Why was this thought of as a good idea?
I got super lost after Long Beam and decided to give up. Why?
Because I spent over an hour combined in the vertical shafts. Even after using a ton of savestates.
These shafts are an abomination of level design purely because of the fact that this game handles damage knockback incredibly poorly, and enemies are spewed out through the entire shafts. Why?!?!?!
The palette hurts my eyes. It actually looks disgusting...horrible shade of red and horrible shade of green.
Overall, do NOT recommend. This hack brought down some of my minor enjoyment for NEStroid singlehandedly. I can't wait to finish all of these hacks and be done with this game.
Did not finish.

This is like the Cristener Homenag of Metroid 1 hacks. Immediately grotesque and impressively unplayable.

I remember back when Dragon Eye Studios was still a thing that the author of this hack (who I shall not name) regretted making it. It's easy to see why.

The vertical shafts in this are like if somebody though that the Kraid-climb in the original game (the part with all the breakable blocks) wasn't hard enough, and so just stuffed a bunch of enemies in and arranged everything randomly. If you get hit on your way up you'll end up being combo'd to death as you fall down. It's quite impressive, in a way.

Looking at the level editor, it appears that Brinstar is the only area that is accessible. Kraid and Tourian also appear to have been modified, but are inaccessible (and, oddly, appear to be better-designed). 100% "completion" of this would entail getting morph, bombs, ice, long beam, varia, 2 missile tanks, and 0 energy tanks.

I quit after playing for 20 minutes, because I couldn't see myself making any progress.
