Q&A and stuff: Q: Uhhhh...what IS this??? A: It's Metroid Fusion but all the text (at least everything MAGE's text editor can do) is run through Google Translate numerous times to produce bizarre results. And I didn't forget that status screen. ;) Q: Why does this exist? A: I was mainly inspired by watching Vinesauce Joel play a Google Translated Pokemon Yellow. It made me feel up to giving a shot at a Google Translate hack, and Metroid Fusion has a relatively small amount of text and a quality editor available, so I chose just that. Also if you don't like Engrish/bad translations you're just tasteless. :^) Oh, and Fusion has little hacking attention, not to mention no spoof hacks. Q: So how exactly was the text produced? A: I just cycled through every text script in the game, copied it into translate, translated it from language to language until the result was desirable enough, edited spacing and all that crap, and applied it to the text's location in the ROM. As for the status screen, I looked up address 56A254 in the Graphics Editor, exported that as raw, opened it in YY-CHR.NET, Google Translated item names and categories, edited said names with the translations, and imported the new file back into the ROM. Q: Did you do this for the unused text, too? A: Not all of it. Some of it's just me messing around with the game's text colors. Q: Why were you lazy and not tend to some text overlapping/splitting words? in between two lines? A: Okay, so it does suck to see this during even the least serious of hacks. I fix this bit by bit, but it's been proven that it won't ruin overall enjoyment of the hack. Just ask anyone else who's played. :> Q: This hack has an issue/I want to give feedback. How can I contact you? A: You could try Metconst, but I'll be more likely to get back to you if you reach me at kkzero#3490 on Discord. CREDITS: All translations done by me, kkzero. Special thanks to the Metconst and MAGconst communities for providing the tools and information needed to hack Metroid Fusion. Huge thanks to everyone who plays this, I really enjoy knowing I made something people will look into at all.
